Wire Park recently made headlines as they announced their first round of retail and restaurant tenants, including Oconee County’s first-ever brewery, South Main Brewing, Gekko Kitchen (a sister restaurant to Politan Row’s Gekko Sushi in Midtown Atlanta), The Original Hot Dog Factory, Fit Body Bootcamp, SoCo Nutrition, Sugar Polish Nail Spa, Scoops, Athens Running Company, and more.
With 228,000 square feet of retail, commercial, and office space surrounding an open-air courtyard, Wire Park is breathing new life into Watkinsville, Georgia. A former wire manufacturing plant, the 66-acre site includes 130 residential units, the region’s first food hall, the Oconee County Library, and The Yard, a 28,710 square foot indoor baseball training facility.
The retail and restaurant spaces at Wire Park feature 25-foot ceilings and are ideal for building a mezzanine level, offering a unique opportunity for free square footage. Soaring windows overlook the open-air courtyard and nearby activated turf zones – including a children’s play area, a bocce ball court, cornhole, and more.
The first food hall in the region, The Grid at Wire Park will host a dynamic mix of offerings from both local and new-to-market chefs including Gekko Kitchen, The Hot Dog Factory, and Winghouse Grill. The 11,400 square foot space will feature 10 build-to-suit stations and central seating. Expansive retractable glass doors will open onto the courtyard, allowing guests to gather and mingle in both spaces.
A 28-acre public greenspace will serve as the epicenter for community programing and will regularly play host to live music, family movies under the stars, fitness classes, farmers markets, and more.
