A commercial property firm plans to develop an Aloft hotel at Summerhill, the $750 million mixed-use project anchored by Georgia State Stadium about a mile south of state’s Capitol building.
Stafford Cos. of Atlanta expects to start construction on the 115-key hotel on Hank Aaron Drive in the Summerhill neighborhood in the third quarter, according to a statement from Atlanta development firm Carter. The boutique-style hotel will face Georgia State University’s football stadium, formerly Turner Field, where the Atlanta Braves played baseball from 1997 to 2016 before moving to suburban Cobb County.
