Terminal South Named “Best New Southside Food Hall & More” by Atlanta Magazine

Stafford is proud to share some exciting news: Terminal South has been named “Best New Southside Food Hall & More” in Atlanta Magazine’s annual Best of Atlanta issue.

For a project rooted in adaptive reuse, community, and local entrepreneurship, this recognition is a meaningful milestone — and one that belongs just as much to our tenants and neighbors as it does to our team.

Located across from the Atlanta BeltLine’s Southside Trail in Peoplestown, Terminal South has transformed two former industrial warehouses into a vibrant neighborhood destination. What was once underutilized space now serves as a place where people gather to eat, shop, create, and connect — reflecting Stafford’s commitment to building places that strengthen the communities they serve.

At the heart of the development is Switchman Hall, a locally driven food hall featuring chef-led concepts. From global flavors to comfort-food classics, the lineup offers something for every palate while giving emerging entrepreneurs a platform to grow. Surrounding the food hall are thoughtfully curated retail spaces designed to encourage discovery and repeat visits.

But Terminal South was never meant to be just a collection of tenants. From the beginning, it was envisioned as a true community hub — a place that feels welcoming whether you’re grabbing lunch, meeting friends on the patio, bringing your kids to a family-friendly event, or supporting a local maker. Weekly programming, pop-ups, markets, and neighborhood partnerships ensure the site stays active and connected to the people who live around it.

Being named “Best New Southside Food Hall & More” by Atlanta Magazine reflects that broader vision: not just great food, but a place with heart, purpose, and a strong sense of place.

“We are incredibly honored by this recognition,” said Stafford’s Executive Director of Real Estate Melissa Ahrendt. “Terminal South was built to celebrate Atlanta’s creativity, diversity, and entrepreneurial spirit, and this award reinforces what we see every day — a project that’s already become something special for the Southside.”

As Terminal South continues to grow, with new tenants, new programming, and new partnerships on the horizon, this moment serves as both a celebration and a reminder of what’s possible when development is rooted in local culture and community.

We’re grateful to Atlanta Magazine for the honor — and to the small businesses, neighbors, and supporters who are helping shape what Terminal South is becoming.
