Cooking with Compassion: Stafford Volunteers at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia

There’s something special about sharing a meal—and even more special when that meal provides comfort during life’s most difficult moments.

Last week, team members from Stafford’s accounting and property management departments—representing both our Atlanta and Tifton offices—met in Macon, Georgia for a morning of service at the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Central Georgia.

After an early team breakfast, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work in the kitchen preparing meals for the families staying at the house. From pasta bakes and casseroles to icebox cakes and trifles, our team made seven crow-pleasing recipes —offering a little ease and nourishment to those navigating medical challenges with their children.

The mission of RMHC is to provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill or injured children receiving care at nearby hospitals. The house offers comfortable beds, hot showers, laundry facilities, internet access, and—thanks to generous volunteers—a steady supply of warm, comforting meals.

It was a privilege to support this incredible organization and help fuel their mission, even in a small way. We left with full hearts (and maybe a few kitchen tips from our coworkers), reminded of how powerful it can be to show up, pitch in, and care for one another.
